Emily Thayer Hausman

Emily is a seasoned writer and project director for The Mally Network with a deep commitment to building stronger, more connected communities. Her passion for advancing equity and dignity for older adults—ensuring they are seen, valued, and supported—informs her service as a board member of Community for Positive Aging. She is especially dedicated to fostering intergenerational connections and expanding community-centered resources that allow older adults to thrive.

Earlier in her career, Emily held marketing roles on the East Coast before joining Disney Publishing Worldwide in Los Angeles to promote children’s books. Born in Oregon and raised in California, she returned to Portland for both undergraduate and graduate school and continues to call it home. Today, she lives there with her family of eight—including two awesome teens, one funny husband, and four beloved furry pals.​
