Volunteer with Us

Interested in learning about joining the Advisory Council at the Community for Positive Aging?

We love our volunteers!

Our wonderful volunteers make all the difference for our community by donating their time and talents.

Our volunteer team is all-ages, with one-time and ongoing, in-person and remote opportunities. You’ll create lasting relationships with folks across generations while doing the fulfilling work of supporting and improving the lives of older adults in our community. Our programming is constantly evolving, and we’re always in need of more helping hands.

Whatever your age, interests, or skills, there’s a rewarding opportunity waiting for you at CFPA.

Current Opportunities

Front Desk/Reception Volunteers

Do you enjoy engaging directly with community members in a dynamic environment? You might fit perfectly on our team of front desk volunteers! Front desk volunteers serve as the first point-of-contact for our senior center, welcoming participants, assisting with activity sign-up, answering phone calls, and so much more!

CfPA Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH)
Volunteer Opportunities

Join the Community for Positive Aging’s mission to support older adults and individuals with disabilities living in permanent supportive housing. We offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities from delivering food and offering technology assistance to hosting peer groups and organizing a community clothing closet. Whether you're looking to connect one-on-one with residents, support behind-the-scenes operations, or share a special skill, there's a meaningful way for you to get involved.

Your time, skills, and compassion can help residents maintain housing stability, build community, and access life-sustaining resources. Volunteers play a vital role in fostering trust, dignity, and connection—ensuring that all residents can age in place safely and with support.

Community Food Programs Volunteer Opportunities

Join CfPA’s fight against hunger and food insecurity in Portland! There is an urgent need for volunteers to help sustain our food security programs and get nutritious food in the hands of folks who need it.

Class Facilitator: Senior Movement

Support life-long fitness and health by helping address the physical and social needs of seniors. We are looking for volunteers to lead senior-focused movement classes, such as Zumba and yoga at the Hollywood Senior Center.
