Front Desk / Reception & Meal Check-In Volunteers
We are recruiting multiple enthusiastic, customer service oriented volunteers to work at the reception desk of the Hollywood Senior Center. This position is perfect for individuals who are confident and comfortable engaging directly with senior center participants and community members.
Duties & Activities
Greet and assist participants as they arrive for programs and appointments or inquire about assistance
Help participants check in electronically using MySeniorCenter, welcome new participants to the center, collect registration forms, and distribute key cards
Answer phone calls to HSC’s main phone line, check messages, and return calls to connect individuals with the appropriate staff or resources
Manage the reception and processing of food and durable medical equipment donations as well as assisting guests access durable medical equipment
Check participants in for congregate meal services on Tuesdays and Fridays

Qualifications & Skills
High degree of reliability
Friendly, outgoing demeanor and excellent customer skills
Basic familiarity with telephone and computer equipment (e.g., phone messaging)
Ability to listen and communicate effectively
Good decision making skills and ability to multitask
Commitment to CFPA’s mission and values, including promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion
Time Commitment: 2-4 hour shift/week
Open Shifts (in order of priority to fill):
Thursdays, 12:30pm - 4:30pm
Tuesdays, 10:30am - 12:30pm (Meals on Wheels lunch check-in ONLY)
Fridays, 10:30am - 12:30pm (Stone Soup lunch check-in ONLY)
Wednesdays, 12:30pm - 4:30pm
Mondays, 12:30pm - 4:30pm
